It was on a warm evening of December 2011 in Oaxaca, Mexico, while I was hosting dinner for a few guests, that I had my first realization about my relationship to sacredness. We were a few friends from all over the world gathering on the colorful patio of my rental house, right by the cliffs of the Pacific coast in Mazunte. Aurore who is an elder from Quebec, came to keep me company in the kitchen while I was preparing food. And in the kindest tones she told me: “I am sorry if this comes out very directly, but the way you smoke is not sacred.” She had seen me for a few days now smoking Hashish with Tobacco quite often. It took me a moment to understand her observation, and I thanked her. I had an addiction to these medicines, that I was able to clear since thanks to shamanism and ThetaHealing. What Aurore helped me understand that day impacted me for the rest of my life.
